A few years ago my wife and I switched to a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) and associated Health Savings Account(HSA). Worked well for about 3 years.
Then in December 2009 the Securities and Exchange Commision (SEC) charged Canopy Financial Inc (the company that managed the HSA) with fraud. Canopy then declared bankruptcy, and the money in the account is inaccessible (or maybe gone??).
